I actually think 3d without glasses will be easier to implement on a handheld device considering there is little variation where most people hold the psp or ds. It will be easy to rely on a set but small "sweet spot" that hinders typical large 3d TVs. If the screen sizes of the 3DS rival the psp's screen then it might be possible to produce some good and noticeable depth in games.
I think Sony will rethink their position in time. A 3D portable could be a good way to m...
@Cajun Chicken
It is nice to hear people mention Earth Defense Force. Had a lot of fun with that game.
@Eamon
Definitely agree with you. This feels like a step back for the main entries of the Mario franchise. I remember powering on the n64 for the first time and appearing outside the castle with the freedom to go where I want. Hopefully they will decide to use and improve upon the hub world in future titles, because it manages to tie all the different levels together better than a stale selection screen.
lol, I remember that one.
I really need to play my copy of Muramasa, but I have yet to finish Odin Sphere. So many good games, so little time....
The free custom themes you talk about are static pictures. The ultimate goal for a themes hack is to be able to create custom dynamic themes and tweak the Xcross bar into anything. Look at comment 1.7 to get an idea what completely customizable themes are like on the psp.
I have been waiting for a long time for 3D to catch on. My family has still yet to upgrade the main TV to HD yet, so we will likely skip HD and go for 3D. I bet many are in the same boat as I am.
Even though it sounds like this game is rather dull, I was always going to purchase it just for the atmosphere. Sometimes I enjoy games that don't do too much, besides showing you the scenery.
My eyes!!! They burn!
Turret Defense?! Count me in. They always are so addictive.
lol, I can't wait until the 2012 elections. Hopefully people will realize the mistake they made in 2008.
I haven't played The Conduit yet, but you can now pick it up cheaply at many places. Target is great for deals, because they really try to push old software (3 months is old to Target) out with newly released games.
Same here. Haven't platinumed too many games, but I was pretty happy when I finished both of the Uncharteds. I only pursue the platinums that give me some enjoyment while working towards them.
Agreed. Hate the grinding trophies and I especially hate the online trophies. The only online trophies that I can stand are the ones like play maybe 10 online matches. They don't break your back or become impossible as the game ages.
The only thing that really differentiates them are the platinum trophies. When I say I have X number of platinum trophies, people know I have beat X number of games completely. The platinum trophy count is more important than the overall level to me.
...unless your watch is set on 24 hour time. =P
Office Chair? Hill? Mobsters?!
Out of all the games shown at the move reveal, this is the one I am most interested in. Even if you don't like motion games and whatnot, you got to admit that this will be one interesting game to watch in motion. Hope to see some videos of this soon.
Although the level sounded like it took a lot time and effort, all that work was not wasted. I definitely was amazed by the sheer scale and the ever changing scenery. I just stood there in the game for five minutes just watching everything rush by. Kudos Naughty Dog.
I would love if Pixar returned to the Incredibles' world. The score for that movie was top notch.
Yeah it is really sad. I guess I am one of the small few that actually buys psp games. I love the custom firmware and being able to rip my games and play emulators, but I wouldn't mind giving all that up to see the psp do better and have more games. Sony learned their lesson on the psp and will surely design the psp2 with piracy protection in mind. I just hope they give us a little more freedom with the user interface because I like using all the custom themes alter Xcross bar into someth...
